The full tank method
This is the most reliable method:
- Fill up the tank completely (until the automatic click)
- Note the current mileage displayed on the odometer
- Drive normally for at least 300 km
- Fill the tank completely again at the same station
- Note the liters filled and the new mileage
The formula
Consumption (L/100 km) = (Liters ÷ Kilometers) × 100
